DETERMINATION OF HEAT SHOCK PROTEINS IN SOME BACILLUS SPECIES

In this study, the effects of four different temperatures on sporulation and development 6 Bacillus species, 2 native 4 reference were investigated. The SDS PAGE analysis emerged that two proteins, 40 39 kilodalton (kDa), produced by sphaericus ATCC 2362 after 24 48, respectively hours at 48°C, local isolate 48 42°C 31 48°C. Additionally firmus (ATCC 14573) a kDa protein 52°C thuringiensis var. israelensis 42 42°C. At 52°C, 12, incubation, vegetative heat resistant spore counts determined to reduce 104-106 fold according bacterial counts. As result, data revealed vitality fell significant degree. Additionally, results showed high temperature resistance was provided shock proteins B. (14573), 40-39 2362), isolates israelensis.

Spores of Bacillus subtilis are significantly more resistant to wet heat than are their vegetative cell counterparts. Analysis of the effects of mutations in and the expression of fusions of a coding gene for a thermostable beta-galactosidase to a number of heat shock genes has shown that heat shock proteins play no significant role in the wet heat resistance of B. subtilis spores.
